My atheist t-shirt site is starting to gain some momentum, and I am trying to decide how best to proceed. the biggest thing is getting myself to let it grow naturally. Not poor to much money in it, and let some of it come back to us. Speaking of money I found a great site to manage the finances, and create invoices for all my various work. It’s called Kashoo, it seems good to go and pretty handy.

Other than that not much to report, no major jobs on the go at the moment. Probably a good time to pay some more attention to my photo blog.

Grim Rabbit Productions Logo Proof - Copyright 2012

Been a busy couple of days, did some product shots for a client and a logo design proposal for Grim Rabbit productions. I will likely do a tutorial on the logo design stuff. Specifically how to go from sketch to final illustration. Not sure which is better, video or just a text tutorial. Not sure I can condense it down to the 15 minute time limit for youtube….we’ll see. At any rate the Rabbit logo was a blast to do. Hope the client likes it. Here are some shots taken with my phone of the drawing process. The character was born on the bottom right of the initial sketches page of my sketchbook (first image in slideshow):

Well that’s it for the diary as it were….have a good Family Day internets, gonna go spend time with mine.

The T-Shirt site is doing well, getting an unexpected amount of traffic, will have to get on the added designs I have planned for it. One thing at a time I suppose. I need a vacation from work to get all the work done that isn’t real work.

These blog posts are a nice respite, even if no one reads them. Kind of a online journal of sorts….well I guess that is what a blog really is.

Should be an interesting year. I have successfully launched yet another t-shirt website, Atheist-Monkey.com. This was a big one for me, as I had always intended to write from scratch a php backend for a t-shirt site, and I succeeded. It’s nice becuase it expedites the addition of pages/t-shirt designs to the site. There is more to be added, for instance a portion of the site where I can uplaod user pics wearing the shirts. It is my intention to take over the Atheist T-Shirt market, mostly because no one is really doing a good job in this niche as far as I can tell.

Basically I sequestered myself in a hotel room for a couple weeks and pounded out the code and designs. Definitely the most intense coding/design session I’ve ever done, but a lot of work at the beginning means less work in the future. I’m probably going to work on using the code as a template for more shirt sites once I work out a few more modules and added features.

Looking Forward

The new year so far has been good, looking forward to some interesting developments around summer time and what that all brings for me.

I also am revamping a few other sites, this one of course is getting a bit of an overhaul with this blog being added. As well my photography blog is getting moved. It is with a company called squarespace right now, frankly it is too expensive, too limiting, etc. etc. So now I have to figure out how to port all that information over to a WordPress site. It is proving….problematic. I may have to start fresh, but that’s okay. The big thing I wanted to add to is is a wiki so that I can start working on the loose concepts of my Photographic Education masterpiece. I am thinking of writing a photography book, but for the time being I want to just get the basics down in a wiki.

My youtube channel is doing well, making a bit of coin now, so I have to get back on that ASAP. Not sure what the next Photoshop lesson will be on. Playing with a few ideas. So much to share, so little time….
