Shot low from the cobblestones of the Place Charles de Gaulle, camera almost on the ground, this is the Arc de Triomphe at the moment the late sun drops into the archway and burns straight through it. Traffic streaks past in both directions, cars pulled into soft ribbons by a slow shutter while the monument itself stays razor sharp. A single figure standing still at the left edge is what gives the frame its scale.

The contrast is deliberate: hard carved stone against a city that will not sit still. Napoleon’s arch has watched Paris move around it since 1836, and this frame is about exactly that, permanence in the middle of motion.

It reads well large. The sunburst pulls the eye into the centre of the arch and the light trails carry it outward, so the piece holds a wall from across a room and still rewards a close look at the relief carving. Suits an entrance hall, a study, or anywhere with the height to give it.
