Palais Garnier – Paris Rooftops Print
Price range: $40.00 through $230.00
Description
Looking down on the Palais Garnier from the rooftop terrace of the Galeries Lafayette, midday, with a good sky working. The opera house fills the left of the frame, its pediment sculpture and the gilded figures on the corners catching the sun, and beyond it the grey zinc rooftops of Paris run flat to the horizon where the Eiffel Tower stands in the haze.
An aerial view of the city that still has a subject. Most Paris rooftop shots are all texture and no anchor; this one has Charles Garnier’s opera house holding the foreground and the tower closing the distance, with the boulevard cutting a diagonal between them.
A detailed print that rewards standing close, so give it a size that lets the rooftops read. Suits an office, a study, or a long wall where people pass slowly.
Printed to archival standards. Made to order in satin photo paper, framed, stretched canvas or gloss metal.
