I don’t like to define myself as one particular type of photographer. I shoot whatever strikes my fancy whenever it strikes my fancy. Sometimes it is a search for a unique view of a famous place, sometimes it is events or people I know. I don’t really have a theme I am shooting for. I just like shooting.
A stunning heart shaped lake is nestled in the deep woods of Frontenac County. The only way to photograph this is to fly a drone, so one fall afternoon I went out and threw my drone up hoping to catch the magical colours of the season. I am very happy with the result. The exact location is here: See this spot on PIXEO If you visit, please be respectful and don't trespass on the local's land.
Taken at Tower Bridge in London, England in the UK. There is a nice little island to shoot from and features a great view for light trail photography. For this shot I was lucky enough to be sandwiched between two of the iconic double decker buses which created some of the best light trails I've ever been able to take. This is a 6 second exposure at f22 at ISO 200. Shot with my Canon 5DSR. I may have had my Variable neutral density filter on, but I can't remember. Hope you like it.
Often called Britain's Sistine Chapel, this stunning location features one of the most beautiful baroque interiors in all of Europe. Meticulously painted by Sir James Thornhill in the early 1700s, the work took 19 years to complete. The space was originally meant to be a grand dining hall for pensioners from the Royal Navy. Eventually, it began to be used as a ceremonial space and hosted events such as the lying in state of Lord Nelson in the 1800s. Today it is frequented by the public and tourists. Visitors can purchase tickets on the Old Royal Naval College website to visit the space. (Greenwich, London, England, UK)
This beautiful old Victorian-style mansion is found in an industrial part of Milton, just west of Toronto. The house features some beautiful styling, and a tower and is in a dilapidated state. It appears abandoned, but can't say for certain. The house is easily photographed from the side of the road. Find it's exact location with the PIXEO App in Milton, Ontario, Canada.
I confess, I think this mill is over-rated compared to other shooting gems inthe Ottawa area, but this is my take on the location. Watson’s Mill is an 1860s water-powered grist and flour mill built by Moss Kent Dickinson and Joseph Currier, who together founded the village of Manotick in Ontario, Canada.
An early Spring sunrise in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada behind the famous 3 churches. Yes, the skies were that orange. There is a fair bit of post applied to balance the tones, and I may have added some magenta to the sky. But this image is not misrepresenting the fiery sky that early spring morning.
